December 14, 2011, my beautiful 40 year old niece went to be with the Lord. Her struggle with depression and addiction–and my own, have led me to write a Bible based daily devotional dedicated to her memory…with the goal of offering hope and encouragement to people who are trying to get–and stay free.
I have been clean and sober since 1978. Prior to that time, I was in and out of hospitals–physically and emotionally wrecked from drug and alcohol abuse.
Depression is something that can harass even the most spiritual. King David is one who struggled in the pits of despair–and God called him the apple of His eye.
There is hope for those who some may see as hopeless. The only true and lasting hope for anyone is God, and God alone.
I have no answers except those I find in the Word of God. I can only point the desperate to God and His Word for help, because He is the one who can save them and His Word is what will keep them free in Him.
Hello Christina,
I have thoroughly enjoyed this Article. I was truly lifted up after reading it. It is great to hear there is an upcoming book.
God Bless You Abundantly,
Diane Bristol
